Dear Mr. Torres,
While working for Alcon Inc, I acquired over 100 new customers within my first 24 months of employment with them through a digital marketing campaign. I built strong relationships with both new and existing clients. I’m excited to bring my dedication to the customer experience into Globus Medical as a Medical Sales Representative.
Globus’ commitment to listening and responding to the surgeon community is an achievable goal. I know I can help Globus with this based on my past achievements:
- Marketed to local medical facilities and providers in the region, leading to an increase in awareness of brand and products
- Created an internal sales competition among fellow salespersons, resulting in a 35% increase in annual sales
- Held regular client meetings to assess current needs or concerns and promote new services and products
I’m looking forward to telling you more about how my proven skills can further grow sales within the Globus Medical organization. I’m available to set up an interview at your convenience.
Best regards,
Sarah Smith
P.S. — I’d also love to talk with you more about how I successfully launched a new orthopedic product.

Dear Mr. Smith,
In my six years with the Nipro Corporation, I created and led a two-day workshop for our surgical clients. I walked the surgeons through an educational presentation and provided hands-on training. I hope to share this same organization and leadership as a senior medical sales representative with Restech.
I believe in Restech’s approach in providing simple solutions to providers. I know you’re in search of a highly efficient, client-first salesperson. Based on my past achievements, I can help the team at Restech get results:
- Consistently beat sales targets by at least 5% quarterly for four years employed with Nipro Corporation
- Established a digital marketing campaign focusing on referrals, leading to an increase of referral base by 26%
- Created a new client satisfaction survey, increasing client communication, and insight
As your schedule allows, I want to set up an interview to talk more about how my client profiles can help Restech’s providers. Feel free to contact me with a time that is convenient for you.
Best regards,
Matthew Lopez
P.S. — I would also like to tell you how the management team chose me to be a Field Sales Mentor.

Senior Hiring Manager
Vatica Health
(123) 456-7890
[email protected]
Dear Ms. Alvarez,
Meeting and often exceeding my target sales by 20% for the last five years in the field is one of my most significant accomplishments as a sales representative. It’s my desire to bring that same level of excellence to Vatica Health as a Senior Medical Sales Representative.
I’m drawn to Vatica Health’s focus on patient engagement and wellness and its commitment to close gaps in care. With my recent promotion to Senior Medical Sales Representative within the 3M Company, I know I’m the right fit for the experienced, sales-driven representative you’re looking for.
My past achievements include:
- Grew market share by 15% for over 25 products within the region
- Completed a temporary District Manager assignment during D.M. leave of absence
- Promoted to Sales Representative Trainer and led incoming new hires within orientation meetings and out in the field
I want to talk more about how my years of sales experience can bring insight and motivation to the Vatica Health Sales team. Please get in touch with me for an interview at your earliest convenience.
Best regards,
Jane Jones
P.S. — I’d love to explain how I received Sales Representative of the Year for fiscal years 2012 – 2013 and 2018 – 2019!
Medical Sales Representative Cover Letter Checklist
A great medical sales representative cover letter contains these five elements:
1. Heading. Catch the reader’s attention using a stylized template to highlight your information which should include:
- Your name, title, and contact info
- The date you wrote the letter
- The addressee’s details
2. Salutation. Greet the addressee by their name — Mr. or Ms. [Last Name]. If you’re unsure of the addressee’s gender pronouns, write their full name “Dear [First and Last Name].” If you’re uncertain of the hiring manager’s name, instead, write “Dear Hiring Manager.”
3. Introduction. Introduce yourself and your interest in the job with an attention-grabbing first paragraph.
4. Body paragraphs. Within the next two paragraphs of the letter, go into detail on any relevant professional experience, education, and skills you’ve acquired. Use a bulleted list to catch the reader’s eye, highlighting the most important points and making the letter visually appealing.
5. Closing section. Thank the hiring manager for their time and the opportunity. Use the close of your letter as a call to action (CTA). Ask for an interview invitation from the hiring manager. Finally, consider adding a P.S. section below your signature as one more chance to stand out and leave them with one last achievement.
Introduction
Use your introduction to grab the hiring manager’s attention and express your interest in the position. A great way to do this is by using one of the best accomplishments from your resume and turning it into a unique introduction of yourself. Make sure it’s something that you can speak to in a quantifiable way and relevant to the job. Be sure to mention what you’ve specifically accomplished, avoiding general facts about experience or education.
Good

I hope to share this same organization and leadership as a Senior Medical Sales Representative with Restech.
Bad
As a sales representative with over six years of experience, I’m qualified for this role of Senior Medical Sales Representative.
Body Paragraphs
The body paragraphs of your letter should describe your reason for wanting this job. Go into detail on what you admire about the organization and how it drove your interest in the position.
Here you can provide even more examples of accomplishments and results you’ve achieved in the form of numbers and positive outcomes. Share the educational and professional successes that you plan to bring to this new job. Again, be specific here and demonstrate what you’ve done with real-world examples.
